A Perfect Touch [First meeeting][1]

I finally got to have my first visit with my sponsor, and I must say I am looking forward to future visits with her. During my visit I asked Mrs. Sellers the question my mentor and I had came up with in our previous meeting, but this wasn’t the basis of our meeting. While talking to Mrs. Sellers, she let me know why she was in the hair business. “When I first started college I was studying to be an accounting. However, I realized when I got pregnant I would be traveling a lot, and would get to see my children often.  So I turned to my second love hair.” …
After we got done our question portion the real fun began, I got to see her at her best. As I sat there I watch her perform miracles on some heads, I thought personally were a challenge but, it seem as I breeze to her. We also discussed a trip she would take me on with her, to a fashion show in New York. I am very eager to my future with Mrs. Seller s as well as the other workers at The Perfect Touch.

Video of the week =)

My video of the week is TLC's Un-Pretty. This is a fairly old song but is a lovely song. The message sent through this video is that if you feel like you're not pretty, you can change anything you feel is relevant to fell just as pretty as the next person.
Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams. Enjoy <3

Chats with Coach ^-^

Yesterday my mentor & I had our weekly talk covering various things that have gone on for the past week. I updated him on what my first visit was like with Mrs. Sellers & our plans for my future visits. Such as, how she let me know she would like to take me on a trip with her to NY, for a fashion show she's doing. In addition to the trip, we talked about various things that would make my final project exciting. In addition to talking about my trip he shared things with me such as, how we need a catchy phrase for my blog for him. So I came up with Chats with Coach, because we never just talk about just Sr. Project events but, my everyday life as well as his. As always I left with some great pointer, that’s why I choose him as a mentor.

Grammy 2011 : Lady Gaga Vs Nicki Minaj

Over the past weekend, the highly anticipated Grammy Awards aired, full of interesting performances, styles & awards. The awards ceremony opened with a tribute to Aretha Franklin, who couldn’t make the awards, followed by some phenomenal musical performance. The wardrobe of the night seems to be the most talk about moments of the night, every year. Everyone look beautiful, dressing to impress and show up everyone in the room. Two of which stood out the most to me, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj, both known for their outrageous choice of clothing.
Thought Lady Gaga is the queen of the red carpet, many think that Nicki  may have over staged Gaga in her leopard get up. I personally enjoy both ladies and their choice of style, but I think Lady Gaga dominates in the AHH category. She is always finding new ways to out do herself and doesn’t care who is around. Not saying that Nicki’s style is beneath Gaga’s however, Gaga is this way 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and it seems that the pretty, prissy look fits Nicki more. Either way I love them both and think they are two unique characters and should wear what they feel is best for them.

Hey that's intresting =)

So this week, while surfing through my cable stations I came across a show called “Ru’Puals Drag Race”. I never seen the show, and as I watched I realized the women I was looking at were actually men. I was appalled that some of these men actually looked as if they were women. This just shows that if you believe you are beautiful, and give off the confidence that you are that person you say you are; your audience will believe it too.I guess this is why, when doing a performance they tell you to believe in yourself even if you mess or no one else will.

Dogs Like to be Pampered Too =) [let's make a connection...]

This past weekend my  dog, Hitch, got his weekly grooming from my brother and me.This consist of a bath, with his  favorite shampoo, being blown dry and brushed, then having his nails clipped;and if he’s good he may earn a treat. I noticed whenever my dog doesn’t receive his day of luxury he gets moody, meaning he will bark at everything and even sit and look at you, as if you forgot something. Then I thought, animals and humans are alike in so many ways, because whenever I don’t get my hair done or a chance to go to the spa, it affects my daily behavior. So I ask the world do we change our appearance to appeal to others, or do we do these things to make ourselves feel better inside? Many say it’s just a mental thing, but a mental thing turned physical is what I say. We alter ourselves to make us feel good inside, no matter how the outside world my view us.

Sponser Sponser Sponser!!!

So my senior project topic, Cosmology, is such a wide topic and I wasn't sure if I wanted to focus on the beauty or hair concept of it. This didn't make finding a sponsor very easy because of the fact that most salons don't have both a beauty and hair salon part to it. With the help of Coach Seller, I am happy to say I have found a wonderful beautician, Mrs. Kim Sellers. She owns her own salon, Perfect Touch, in Williamstown, NJ, and I look forward to learning new crafts, and the real world of beauty.
