Recently, I was turned on to a neo soul artist whose voice is absolutely incredible, Corrine Bailey Rea. I had happened to be surfing through channels, when a deep, subtle voice caught my attention, and I must say I am not one who thinks everyone can sing. However, this woman’s voice is filled so much pain and emotion and I can tell she is sing from her soul, which I personally feel is lacking in some artist today.
When I listen to songs there are things that I look for: emotion, connection to the song, lyrics, and of course I catchy beat of some sort. I am not expert in music but good music is definitely something I can pin point. Many consider odd because I’m attracted to artist of all genres , wither it’s the lovely sound of Alesana’s The Third Temptation of Paris or Marsha Ambrosius’s soothing voice in far away , I consider it great music. ^_^
